Gudrun has won honors in numerous juried fine arts shows and been featured in several one-woman shows. She has recently written and illustrated a children's picture book, The Sleep Ponies, which is in its 5th printing. She is finishing a companion book.

Gudrun studied art (as well as nursing) at the University of Washington, in Europe and in various classes and workshops since. She enjoys a variety of two-dimensional mediums as well as sculpting. She is particularly recognized for colorful and bold impressionistic oil paintings of people and animals in informal poses.
